On Wednesday, Dec. 7, Andover Coalition for Education, Andover Public Schools and Andover Youth Services hosted a movie screening at the Cormier Youth Center.
The screening was part one of the PBS production School of the Future, which shows how to “prepare children to compete in a new age of information, rapid innovation and globalization,” according to a press release.
“It also explored how the science of learning—including new insights from neuroscientists, psychologists, and educators— can reveal how children’s brains work and tell us which techniques are most likely to engage and inspire growing minds,” the press release stated.
A packed audience, including parents, teachers, and district leaders, attended the screening, “an active dialogue among attendees, presentations by APS faculty, and fun activities that garnered audience participation,” according to the release.
“We were delighted with the level of enthusiasm our community had for this event, as evidenced by the great turnout,” said ACE President Lenore Price. “We are excited about the next part of this learning series that will feature more opportunities for the community to interact with some of Andover’s best and brightest educational leaders.”
